I just have to share with you this awesome non-profit organization called The Shine Project. At LuLaRoe's convention this year we learned about this project, where founder Ashley LeMieux, created a non-profit organization that gives scholarships to inner-city college students to help them pay for college. But that was not enough for Ashley, she taught herself how to make bracelets, with the goal to be able to employ the scholarship recipients, so they could continue to support themselves and their families while attending college. Threads now employs 11 students , who are involved in running everything from customer service, shipping, jewelry design, t shirt design, new product design, sales, and events. This summer LuLaRoe joined with The Shine Project for an extra special project. One of the students is attending college for fashion design. She designed a beautiful print for LuLaRoe. At Convention, consultants were able to get Amelia's and Cassie's in four different colorways in the print, and each piece came with a necklace from The Shine Project. What I love most about the jewelry, is that each piece is signed by the student who made it! Be on the lookout, as some consultants will have these available for you!
